Q: The words came into my mind as I sat and connected. It took a couple of days of me doing my best to 'live it' in order to contemplate the effect. For me, I felt it was similar to the 'get out of the way' of little self or, as A Course in Miracles puts it, to 'rise above the battleground' of life, or even that beautiful poem by the Rev Sapphire Rose titled 'She Just Let Go' (a favourite of mine) Then 2 days later the words came in response to my question 'what, when and how?'.
A: To live more within the formless soul that is the true informer for the human way. It has already come, you but re-live its arrival within your Soul's Heart. To speak even the words lifts you high enough within your self to feel the power that lies therein, of the success in living it (completely)
Step back from your life and consider, for a moment, that you have arrived as a tourist here in a strange world. You have travelled far and seen much, yet now you are here, partaking of the sights and sounds, all senses open to this new and exciting experience, knowing it has been your choice to do so. You do not speak the language of the natives here, still do you greet them warmly, yet set apart from all their experience of living in this place.
Your attempts to communicate with them are not exactly futile, for your own demeanour and energetic presence (emanation) is your way of communicating more fully and openly with them. The simple smile communicates a kind and friendly way and they too respond in kind. Yet any meeting with a stranger is, at best, for the most part unpredictable, so you as visitor, must offer first the hand of friendship.
This is, in essence, living the uninhabited life.
A life of offering the hand of friendship to all that presents itself to you to experience here (without expectation of return or outcome) It is realising that you really know nothing of this place you find yourself in, other than your faith that to know nothing here is all well and it is all good. For deep inside you trust your True Soul knows what it is doing and where it is going. Your part to play is to take in the sights, the sounds, the smells and the physical touch. All senses on full peaceful and trusting alert whilst offering your hands in friendship to them all.
Take this concept of living the uninhabited life deep into your mind and your heart. See it as a way to progress more quickly, for it can be likened to being the observer or watcher of life, living itself through you, but it is the more participatory way of being (here) For know that you are here to participate. There is no audience here yet are you called to do so (also)
This is not conflicting advise. Think upon this deeply. You are both actor and audience here.
This cannot be understood or learned by the heart through any intellectualising of it as a concept or way of living the physical life. Yet it can be contemplated, likened to any 'state of being' that opens you.
Participate as audience observing your self giving the best performance of Lover and Loved of your life. For to live the uninhabited life is to hold gently both the watcher and the watched in both hands, gazed upon by the loving eyes of your Deepest Soul. It is to surrender, to release your tight and desperate grip upon life. To just let go, to not take this life or this self too seriously. It is the way of freedom to let life live through you with a smile upon your face as you offer Love to your life and your world that chooses to 'inter-act' with you (in participation)
It is to recognise that there is, indeed, a Bigger Picture that is Creator's Plan of Love and Light for all creation. To trust that Plan implicitly and to mitigate worldly sufferings by offering the hand of Love to it all.
To live this 'uninhabited life' takes practice and persistence of practice. Then in time you will find it comes more easily, more naturally to you and you will find all life to feel lighter and emptier of old cares. For you are freeing your constricted self by reaping the rewards of living, more successfully, the uninhabited life, emitting more and more, the clearer, purer, unsullied Love and Light of our Divine Creator. It is a practice worth remembering as you walk through life and lives Home to Creator.
